On Friday, October 19, 2012, North Carolina Division of Medical Assistance (DMA) will continue to notify physicians who have yet to complete the recredentialing process for the Medicaid program. It is imperative that clinicians who are contacted by DMA complete their recredentialing applications within 30 days of receiving notice. Otherwise, those health care professionals will have to re-enroll and pay any applicable fees, during which time Medicaid claims will not be paid.
DMA is required to recredential physicians and physician groups a minimum of every three years to ensure that their information is up-to-date and accurate in DMA’s Enrollment, Verification and Credentialing (EVC) system. Affected health care professionals who need to recredential will be notified by email or United States mail. A web-based enrollment application can be completed and submitted through NCTracks. Questions or individual concerns should be directed to the NCTracks website, or to the CSC EVC Operations Center at 866-844-1113.
Throughout this process, the North Carolina Medical Society (NCMS) has published several Bulletin articles and notified physicians encouraging them to look for correspondence from CSC, Medicaid’s enrollment and credentialing vendor, and take action within the required timeframe in order to avoid being terminated from the program.

The process of the recredentialling is very time consuming and we got three different answers from support staff about questions we had about the process. Our first application was electronically submitted almost 3 weeks ago, and we have had no further feedback as to the provider being successful or unsuccessful. Nor have we recieved a bill for the $100/provider.

Maybe DMA should figure out that these doctors do not intend to re-enroll?
