The 18th Annual Health Hotline will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at Independence Mall in Wilmington. Sponsored by WWAY-TV, and the New Hanover-Pender County and North Carolina Medical Societies, the event promotes access to health care by allowing callers to speak to physicians free of charge. Letters inviting member physicians were emailed and faxed on Wednesday. Kevin Scully, MD, with Atlantic Orthopedics in Wilmington, became the first physician to volunteer for the Hotline, which will run from 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm, and will require about 60 physician volunteers to man the phones.
