Dear Colleague,
Another year has come and gone, one filled with dramatic change for our profession as a whole. Health care reform will impact each and every one of us in our roles as physicians and as patients. Now more than ever, your involvement in organized medicine is vital to the future of medicine. I invite you to take part in the 2010 North Carolina Medical Society Annual Meeting, where you can get a better picture of what is coming down the road in health care.
The meeting officially kicks off on Friday, October 22nd with a day full of events for practice managers and Community Practitioner Program participants, including the opening of the Annual Meeting Exhibit Hall, filled with companies that provide solutions for your practice and your personal life, including representatives from Apple and Best Buy who will donate fun gadgets for a drawing to be held on Sunday. On Friday evening, all meeting attendees are invited to attend the Welcome Reception, the official kick-off event for the Annual Meeting.
Following Saturday’s House of Delegates and reference committee sessions, the NCMS PAC throws its annual luncheon, featuring John Rustin, Executive Director of the NC Free Enterprise Foundation, discussing the upcoming elections. Later, the Medical Society will host a general session that is open to all meeting attendees entitled The Future of Medicine: The Impact of Health Care Reform. This will be a “can’t miss” session for anyone concerned about the impact of reform legislation on their practice and patients. All attendees are then invited to the President’s Inauguration and Reception in honor of John R. Mangum, MD, who will be inducted as the Society’s 157th President that evening.
