BE SURE TO VOTE! Tuesday, May 4 Is Primary Election Day in NC

Winners of US and NC legislative races will play an important role in how the new health care reform law is implemented and how the state budget will address health care needs. Your North Carolina Medical Society urges you to cast your ballot in Tuesday’s Primary.

Registered voters in North Carolina have the opportunity to vote in the statewide Primary Election on Tuesday, May 4.  Polls will open at 6:30 am and close 7:30 pm.  Democrats and Republicans will nominate candidates for federal, state and local offices, with winners to appear on the November 2 Election ballot. Registered unaffiliated voters may choose to vote in either the Democratic or Republican races, or to vote only in non-partisan races like judgeships and school boards. Candidates who lead in races but fail to gain a winning percentage of votes may face a Runoff on Tuesday, June 22.
