On Tuesday, September 14, 2010 the Brunswick County Medical Society held their Annual Fall Meeting and Social Gala in Supply, NC. The event was attended by approximately 60 physicians and physician assistants as well as 20 vendors from the medical community. A CME program was also included in the evening’s events.
Jugta Kahai, MD, President of the BCMS and State Representative Frank Iler both encouraged attendees to become politically active and to support the medical profession at the state level during these uncertain times for health care. Various other speakers also highlighted the tremendous support that members of the BCMS have offered to Habitat for Humanity projects as well as by volunteering at the New Hope Clinic. Janelle Rhyne, MD, the newly appointed medical director for Cape Fear Health Net also offered comments on the new episodic care clinic that she will be leading in the region.
