The North Carolina Medical Society this week joined with other medical societies throughout the U.S. to campaign for a permanent fix to the Medicare physician payment formula known as the SGR (sustainable growth rate). Physicians and their patients can now get involved in a grassroots effort to gather one million signatures on a petition asking for Congress to take action on the SGR.
