Congresswoman Ellmers Assembles a Healthcare Advisory Council

Cong. Renee EllmersCongresswoman Renee Ellmers has announced the formation of a healthcare advisory council, primarily comprised of physicians and other healthcare providers from her Congressional District (District 2). The purpose of the council is to provide Congresswoman Ellmers with insight and suggestions regarding issues and challenges being faced in healthcare today. 

The following NCMS members and staff will be participating on the council:

Byron J. Hoffman, Jr., MD (IM), Siler City
John C. Mangum, MD (FP), Sanford
Chad Mather, MD (ORS), Durham
Marc S. Stevens, MD (ORS), Smithfield
C. John Torontow, MD (FP), Siler City
Steve Keene, North Carolina Medical Society
Alan Skipper, North Carolina Medical Society

The first meeting of the council is scheduled for August and has been designated as a “Healthcare Listening Session.”

    Kudos to Ms Ellmers. I hope that more of our legislators do this. Then we can have reasonable and more thoughtful healthcare changes.
