Federal Funding To Expand Access to Health Care in North Carolina and Other States

Two North Carolina community health center programs will benefit from federal funds designed to expand health care delivery to underserved and vulnerable populations.

Greene County Health Care, Inc., Snow Hill, will receive $841,167, and Albemarle Hospital Authority, Elizabeth City, will receive $541,667, from funding made available through the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

The US Department of Health and Human Services announced this week that 67 programs nationwide were awarded $28.8 million to help establish new health service delivery sites for an additional 286,000 patients. The announcement was part of the National Health Center Week observance, August 7-13.
