As President and CEO of a large multispecialty group and Accountable Care Organization of more than 300 physicians and mid-level healthcare professionals, she has helped guide it to receive National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) recognition in several areas.

With seemingly boundless energy, she serves with numerous other groups including the American Medical Association Innovators Committee and the Fraud, Waste and Abuse Task Force and the American College of Physician Executives Board of Directors. In her spare time, she also has managed to coauthor a book titled:  MD 2.0: Physician Leadership for the Information Century.

Her list of honors is extensive, including notable recognitions such as Morehead scholar, Phi Beta Kappa, North Carolina Medical Society Young Leader Award, Triad Business Journal’s “Ten to Watch” List and “Most Influential People in the Triad,” a Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners; a Fellow of both the American College of Physicians and the American College of Physicians Executives.

A UNC undergrad, she went on to receive her medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine and completed her residency at North Carolina Baptist Hospital. She left North Carolina briefly to earn her Master’s in Medical Management from Carnegie Mellon University.
