On November 10, the US Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) unveiled a new comprehensive tobacco strategy and new graphic warning labels for cigarette packages and advertisements. Once implemented, the health warnings would mark the most significant change in the federal campaign against tobacco use in more than 25 years. The aim of the new strategy is to help tobacco users quit and prevent children from starting.
