President Obama this week nominated Donald M. Berwick, MD, a professor at Harvard Medical School and the Harvard School of Public Health, to be administrator for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).  Dr. Berwick is a pediatrician and president of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement in Cambridge, MA.
