For political observers, middle to late February each election year is an exciting time. The candidate filing period opened on February 10 at noon. When it closes on February 28, we will know the full slate of candidates for the 2014 primary elections.

NCMS staff is already researching districts, voter attitudes and evaluating announced candidates. We expect to see some tight races featuring candidates that represent a choice for medicine. With issues ranging from Medicaid to protecting medical malpractice reforms, this year’s elections will have a significant impact.
