Upcoming ICD-10 Training Sessions for Practice Administrators: Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) across the state will be holding ICD-10 training and implementation sessions for medical practices. The sessions will assist practice administrators, managers, coders, billers and clinical staff understand ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes and identify documentation and implementation issues that may impact a practice. The program costs $135 for early registration and $150 up to ten days before the event. Cracking the Codes: Getting it Right—Immunization Coding and Payment, a webinar hosted by Sanofi Pasteur, will be held throughout the month of June. The webinar will provide a comprehensive review of best coding practices and help physicians understand vaccination costs and payment. It also cover reporting and documentation requirements for decreased financial liability and tips for a successful vaccine business model. Richard H. NC Hospice Free Pain Assessment Workshop, hosted by the Association for Home and Hospice of North Carolina and the Hospice and Home Care Foundation of North Carolina, will be on Wednesday, June 13, 2012, 12:30 pm – 3:30 pm at the Hospice of Wake County, Raleigh, NC. CMS HIPAA Version 5010 Webinar will be offered Wednesday, June 20, 2012, 10:00 am – 11:00 am, to discuss Version 5010 standards and the approaching enforcement discretionary period, which takes effect June 30, 2012. Version 5010 refers to the revised set of HIPAA electronic transaction standards adopted to replace the current version 4010/4010A standards adopted by CMS. The webinar will focus on current conversion statistics, final preparation for 5010/D.0 cutover, operational concerns, future of EDI communications, resources and contact information.
