The Flu and You campaign, co-sponsored by Sanofi Pasteur and the National Council on Aging (NCOA), was established to educate adults 65 years of age and older about the impact that the flu can have on them, the importance of getting an annual flu shot and how a higher dose flu vaccine may be a beneficial option for them. Upcoming ICD-10 Training Sessions for Practice Administrators: Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) across the state will be holding ICD-10 training and implementation sessions for medical practices. The sessions will assist practice administrators, managers, coders, billers and clinical staff understand ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes and identify documentation and implementation issues that may impact a practice. The program costs $135 for early registration and $150 up to ten days before the event. NC/SC Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery 2012 Assembly, co-sponsored by the North Carolina Society of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery (NC OHNS) and Wake AHEC, will be held Friday-Sunday, August, 3-5, 2012 at Grove Park Inn Resort and Spa, Asheville, NC. North Carolina Spine Society (NCSS) Annual Meeting, which is jointly sponsored by the NCSS and Wake Area Health Education Center (Wake AHEC), will be held Friday-Saturday, August 17-18, 2012 at the Ritz-Carlton, Charlotte, NC.
