North Carolina Academy of Sleep Medicine Annual Meeting will be held Saturday-Sunday, November 17-18, 2012 at the William and Ida Friday Center for Continuing Education. The objective of the meeting is to discuss current trends affecting the practice of sleep medicine, identify emerging practice trends of sleep medicine, and describing specialty therapies such as behavioral sleep medicine. The North Carolina Psychiatric Association (NCPA) will hold a CPT Coding and Practice Management Workshop December 7, 2012 in Greensboro. The workshop will offer information and practical, hands-on training for physicians and practice staff about the new CPT Codes used for psychiatric services. Speakers will also discuss practice management issues, including staffing, overhead, benchmarking, software, etc.  

Health Law & Ethics Update 2012, December 8, 2012, 8 am – 2 pm, McKimmon Center, 1101 Gorman Street, Raleigh, NC 27606. The interface between the practice of medicine and the realm of law is increasing with every passing year. Through the use of didactics and case presentations, this program will focus on issues that are of legal concern to physicians and other healthcare professionals in North Carolina. This complimentary webinar provides a review of correct coding for vaccination billing to ensure entitled payment. The webinar covers reporting and documentation requirements for decreased financial liability and tips for a successful vaccine business model.

North Carolina Dermatology Association (NCDA) 2013 Annual Meeting will be held Friday-Sunday, January 11-13, 2013 at the Charlotte Marriott City Center, Charlotte, N.C. The meeting will evaluate dermatological practice needs, discuss systemic approaches to recalcitrant severe atopic dermatitis, analyze the effective use of isotretinoin in severe acne vulgaris, recognize common fungal infections and review management, and much more. 2013 CODEquest Coding College will take place on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at the Benton Convention Center, Winston Salem, N.C. This conference is a venture between the North Carolina Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Academy of Ophthalmic Executives. The six-hour course covers 2013 Ophthalmology coding updates, audit updates, information regarding sample coding surgical cases, tips for best run practices, examples of costly coding errors and mistakes, and an ICD-10 workshop.
