Medical Group Managers Prepare to Participate in White Coat Wednesday

Members of the NC Medical Group Managers (NCMGM) will be participating in the NCMS White Coat Wednesday on March 23, 2011, with pre-legislative meetings on Tuesday, March 22, at the Marriott Raleigh City Center. There’s still time to sign up, if you would like to participate.

At the pre-legislative meetings on March 22, NCMS Director of Legislative Relations Chip Baggett will provide an update on health care hot topics, and NC Insurance Commissioner Wayne Goodwin will speak on insurance regulation. A Perspective from Both Sides will feature Joseph D. Coletti, Director of Health and Fiscal Policies Studies at the John Locke Foundation, and Adam Searing, JD, MPH, Project Director for the Health Access Coalition, NC Justice Center. NC House Speaker Thom Tillis is scheduled to address the group at a Town Hall meeting Tuesday evening.

On Wednesday, participants will attend a breakfast briefing at the NCMS and then spend the day at the legislature discussing various health care issues with lawmakers.

There is no cost for NCMGM members to attend the meetings and White Coat Wednesday.  For non-members, the cost is $45. Participants needing hotel accommodations may contact the Marriot Raleigh City Center at 1-888-236-2427.
