Member News: Raleigh City Council Proclamation and AOA Induction

Over the past month, a few NCMS members have been recognized in the community for their dedication to the medical professional. The NCMS would like to congratulate the following:

  • William W. Hedrick, MD

This week, the Raleigh City Council declared July 3, 2012 as “Bill Hedrick Day,” in honor of William W. Hedrick, MD, who has served as a family practitioner in Raleigh for 50 years. Dr. Hedrick is a life member of the NCMS, Wake County Medical Society and AMA.

Congratulations Dr. Hedrick!

  • G. Hadley Callaway, MD

Past NCMS President G. Hadley Callaway, MD, was inducted in the American Orthopaedic Association (AOA) during the 125th Annual Meeting last month. Membership into the AOA signifies honor and accomplishment in orthopaedics, as well as commitment to take active leadership roles pertaining to the specialty. Dr. Callaway serves on the North Carolina Medical Society Foundation Board, is Past President of the Wake County Medical Society, a member of the North Carolina Orthopaedic Association, and has been chief of orthopaedic surgery at both Rex Hospital and WakeMed. Dr. Callaway currently works at the Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic.
