Metrolina Nephrology Associates, PA (MNA) has been awarded a $10,600 Practice Wellness Grant from the North Carolina Medical Society Employee Benefit Plan (NCMS Plan) for encouraging wellness and good health practices among its employees.

To qualify for the grant, MNA secured executive commitment to a corporate mission that included a vision of optimal health for patients and employees alike.  They agreed to create a work environment that supports healthy lifestyles, adopted a tobacco-free work site policy, and offered onsite group nutrition education sessions.

To encourage participation and help employees offset the increasing costs of health care, incentives of up to $1200 were offered for participation and for meeting certain health standards, such as being tobacco free, having a body mass index less than 30, etc.

Metrolina Nephrology Associates is the region’s most recognized and experienced Nephrology group. The practice has been on the forefront of the treatment and management of kidney disease for more than 40 years. Composed of 31 Nephrologists and 14 Nephrology Advanced Practitioners, the practice serves patients from nine convenient locations.

The NCMS Plan has been providing group benefit solutions to medical practices in North Carolina since 1998.  Sponsored by the North Carolina Medical Society and managed by Medical Mutual Insurance Company of North Carolina, the NCMS Plan currently is the preferred choice for group benefits of approximately 900 medical practices in North Carolina.  Learn more about the NCMS Plan and its Practice Wellness grant program at www.ncmsplan.com.
