NC ACP 2011 Annual Scientific Session features Keynote on Confronting Obesity in Patients

The NC Chapter of the American College of Physicians (NC ACP) will hold its 2011 Annual Scientific Session, January 28-29, at the Washington Duke Inn and Golf Club in Durham. This educational activity was planned with input from both academic and private practice perspectives. The course will include diverse topics such as diabetes management, rheumatology, anticoagulation management, back pain management, peripheral vascular disease, and pre-operative evaluation and care.

Also featured are chief resident presentations from the state’s seven internal medicine residency programs and a poster competition for residents and medical students. A new feature for 2011 is a choice of clinical skills workshops. The Friday evening awards banquet features a presentation by Howard Eisenson, MD, of the Duke Diet and Fitness Center, on “Confronting Obesity: Do Ask, Do Tell.”

Members and nonmember physicians, residents, medical students and allied health professionals are welcome. The two-day course has been approved for 11.5 AMA PRA Category 1 credits.
