At the American Academy of Dermatology’s 2012 Annual Meeting, the North Carolina Dermatology Association (NCDA) was recognized as a Model State Society for organizational and program excellence, and also for Outstanding Patient/Community Education for its education initiative on sun safety and the dangers of indoor tanning. Alan Skipper, Director, Specialty Society, Meeting & Education Services, Susan Sanders, MD, NCMS Member and NCDA President-Elect, and Craig Burkhart, MD, NCMS member and NCDA Immediate Past President, accepted the award on behalf of the NCDA.
