NC Flu Season Most Active in a Decade

North Carolina’s Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has reported that the state’s flu season was the most active in the last decade. This year the flu claimed 54 lives across the state with 34 of those cases being 65 years old and older.

Last year, nine deaths were reported and in 2011, the flu caused 36 deaths in the state.
