The NCMS and specialty society leadership came together for a half-day summit on Saturday February 2, 2013 in Raleigh. The program focused on legislative topics as well as the Toward Accountable Care Consortium, Community Care of North Carolina, workers’ compensation reimbursement changes, and employed physician issues.

The legislative issues discussed included the state budget, Medicaid expansion, health benefits exchanges, Patient Safety Coalition, professional liability, and insurance and payer issues.  

The goal of the summit was to bring together the leadership of the various organizations to share ideas and legislative priorities on the key issues facing all physicians.
