NCMS Member Dr. Jim Fulghum Wins Primary Election

Last Tuesday, voters chose North Carolina Medical Society (NCMS) member Rep. Jim Fulghum, MD, (R-Wake) to be the Republican nominee for North Carolina Senate District 15. Dr. Fulghum earned 80 percent of the vote in his primary election. He now goes on to face former Raleigh Mayor Tom Bradshaw in the general election.

Currently, Dr. Fulghum is a member of the North Carolina House of Representatives, serving the citizens of District 49. Upon the retirement announcement of current Sen. Neal Hunt (R-Wake), Dr. Fulghum filed to run for the Senate seat.

NC Senate District 15 covers northeastern Wake County. The NC Free Enterprise Foundation assigned it a Conventional Voter Behavior (CVB) rating of “Leaning Republican”. The ranking is based on the historical voting data in every statewide race since 2008.
