NCMS Remembers

William Dumas McLester, MD, died May 15, 2010 at his home in Chapel Hill.  He was 73.  A memorial service was held in Fayetteville on May 19. Dr. McLester was Past President of the Cumberland County Medical Society and Chief of Ophthalmology at Cape Fear Valley Hospital. He did several years of research at UNC-CH and practiced pathology in Fayetteville, before completing a residency in ophthalmology at the Medical College of Virginia and returning to Fayetteville to practice until he retired in 1999. He is survived by a daughter, two brothers and a sister. The family requests that memorials be made to the Coalition for Pulmonary Fibrosis, http://www.coalitionforpf.org/.

Albert J. Osbahr Jr, PhD, 80, father of NCMS Past President Albert J. Osbahr III, MD, died April 26, 2010 at his home in Vero Beach, FL. During his distinguished career as a researcher and teacher, Dr. Osbahr taught at Georgetown University and devoted his professional life working at the National Institutes of Health and Johns Hopkins University. He is survived by his wife, Diana; sons Albert III, Drew and Daryl; daughters Valerie, Christine and Cheryl and 12 grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the N.C.
