The North Carolina Medical Society Foundation (NCMSF) and the North Carolina Medical Group Managers (NCMGM) will be hosting a webinar discussing the transition to HIPAA 5010 on Thursday, January 19, 2012, 12:00-1:00 pm. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has indicated that no enforcement actions will take place for the 5010 transition until April 1, 2012, while HIPAA- covered entities continue to work towards compliance.
The NCMS urges physicians to continue the efforts of complying with the use of the new 5010 standards. For this reason, the webinar will discuss what 5010 means for practices, improvements for 5010, 5010 Eligibility Enhancements, 5010 Healthcare Payment/Remittance Advice, and a provider action check list. The webinar speaker will be the Director of Client Services for Physician Discoveries, Joanie Cochran, BSM, CPC, CPCO, CCS-P.
The webinar costs $50 and registered participates will receive an email confirmation with webinar and phone-in instructions.
