New Employee Rights Poster Must Be Displayed in Medical Practice

As of November 14, 2011, medical practices with income or expenses of $250,000 or more will fall under an employer category that requires the organization to display a formal notice of Employee Rights Under the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA). The poster informs employees about their rights to organize a union, negotiate as a group, and strike. Information on employees’s rights to not participate in such activities is also explained.

The 11×17 posters are available from the National Labor Relatons Board (NLRB) offices or on the NLRB website. Practices that communicate with employees via intranets are also required to display the information online. (Source: American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons).
