New NCAHC Ad Wants Juries to Know the Truth About the Cost of Medical Care

An ad appearing on TV and radio stations statewide says juries should know the truth about the cost of medical care. In the ad, North Carolinians for Affordable Health Care (NCAHC) seeks public support to reform the current law that allows personal injury attorneys to reveal only the full charges for medical care, rather than the amounts accepted as payment in full. NCAHC says House Bill 542 – Tort Reform for Citizens and Businesses would let juries know the real costs of medical care involved in a case and would help to lower litigation costs and insurance rates for everyone.
