Recently, the Division of Medical Assistance, through its vendor CSC, sent out new Medicaid Participation Agreements. A number of concerns have been identified with the new agreements. NCMS has joined with the NC Hospital Association, the NC Health Care Facilities Association and others to ask DMA to delay implementation of the provider agreements at least until the proposed rules, which were published in the NC Register on Oct 1, 2009 (http://www.oah.state.nc.us/rules/register/Volume24Issue07October12009.pdf, page 318), are finalized, and preferably until we have had the opportunity to discuss the problematic provisions in more detail. NCMS staff are evaluating the proposed rules and the new provider agreement and will provide information on this blog as it becomes available.
