New VA Outpatient Clinic Being Built in Goldsboro

A groundbreaking ceremony was held October 28, 2011, to mark the start of construction for the new Goldsboro Community Based Veterans Administration (VA) Outpatient Clinic. The 10,000 square foot facility is expected to be completed in the summer of 2012 and will be the first new clinic in the VA’s Mid-Atlantic Region Care Network to be designed and built specifically to utilize the Patient Aligned Care Teams (PACT) System. PACTs consist of a health care provider (physician, physician assistant or nurse practitioner), registered nurse, licensed practical nurse and a medical administration specialist. Two PACT teams will work closely with patients and their families at the Goldsboro clinic, which will be able to handle up to 2,400 veterans, with the capacity to care for almost 5,000 if two additional PACT teams are added.
