Nominate an Outstanding Physician Leader for the Harris Award

Harris Award

The Carolinas Center for Medical Excellence (CCME) is currently accepting nominations for the 2011 Harris Memorial Award in honor of the life and memory of one of its founding members, T. Reginald Harris, MD.

Presented annually in conjunction with the annual meeting of the North Carolina Medical Society, a plaque and a $2,500 monetary prize are given to a North Carolina physician for outstanding achievements in the areas of health care quality and service to the medical community.

“It is truly fitting that we continue to bestow this award to a deserving physician in honor of Dr. Harris,” said John B. Smith, Jr., MD, CMD, board president of CCME. “Dr. Harris devoted his career to improving the quality of health care for people with Medicare and provided decades of service to the medical community through the North Carolina Medical Society and the American Medical Association. He was a physician’s physician. He was absolutely dedicated to quality patient care.”

To nominate a physician, submit the physician leader’s name that you think is most deserving by Friday, July 1, 2011.

Please visit CCME’s website at http://www.thecarolinascenter.org/ to download and complete the nomination form.
