CMS is specificially requesting public feedback regarding the hospital’s EMTALA obligation following the stabilization of a patient and whether EMTALA obligations end after a patient in unstable condition is admitted as an inpatient and only requires treatment at a hospital with specialized capabilities. Comments are due to CMS by 5:00 PM on February 22, 2011.
