ProPublica Series Looks at Big Pharma Payments to Physicians

Independent, non-profit online newsroom ProPublica this week launched a series of articles about payments made by large pharmaceutical companies to physicians. The series includes a link to a database where seven of the largest drug companies have begun posting names of physicians and compensation they received since 2009. Writers Dan Nguyen, Charles Ornstein and Tracy Weber developed the series.  A disclaimer with the first article stated that “receiving payments isn’t necessarily wrong, but it does raise ethical issues.”
