The North Carolina Medical Society Board of Directors considered the application of the North Carolina Society of Gastroenterology for recognition as a medical specialty organization of the North Carolina Medical Society.  Approval of this request would qualify the Society for representation in the NCMS House of Delegates.  It was determined that the Society has met all the requirements of the NCMS Bylaws.

The NCMS Board of Directors at its meeting on September 8, 2012, approved the following recommendation, which is hereby submitted to the House of Delegates for action.

RECOMMENDATION

That the following be adopted and that the remainder of the report be filed:

1.     That the North Carolina Society of Gastroenterology be granted recognition as a medical specialty organization of the North Carolina Medical Society; and (admin)

2.     That the organization be represented in the House of Delegates. (admin) 

Fiscal Note:  No additional funding above current resources estimated.  Current resources will be allocated based on the priorities of the Society and NCMS budget.
