Senator’s Letter Provides Further Insight into Health Care Reform Debate

US Senator Richard Burr (R-NC) has offered additional insight into the debate underway in the Senate over the health care reform bill. “This bill also falls short in addressing medical malpractice reform and physician reimbursement,” Senator Burr wrote, in a letter sent today to NCMS EVP, CEO Robert W. Seligson. The letter includes examples of what is taking place in the debate and how it could affect physicians. Read Senator Burr’s letter here.

In the Congressional Record of December 10, 2009, Senator John McCain (R-Arizona) listed physician organizations that oppose HR 3590– Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Senator McCain said more than 40 state, county and national medical societies are on the list.
