Shared Savings Program Applications Due September 6

The goal of the Medicare Shared Savings Program is to facilitate coordination among healthcare providers to improve the quality of care for Medicare fee-for-service (FFS) beneficiaries. Eligible professionals and suppliers may participate in the Shared Savings Program by creating or participating in an accountable care organization (ACO). The Shared Savings Program pays ACOs that lower their rate of growth in health care costs while meeting quality performance standards – by sharing savings up to a certain percentage.

To be considered for participation in this program, applicants must complete their submissions by September 6, 5:00 pm. More information regarding the application and procedure can be found here: http://www.cms.gov/Medicare/Medicare-Fee-for-Service-Payment/sharedsavingsprogram/Application.html.

A CMS presentation detailing the application process also can be found here: http://www.cms.gov/Medicare/Medicare-Fee-for-Service-Payment/sharedsavingsprogram/Downloads/AC_Module_Training_2013.pdf.

Questions related to your application can be directed to [email protected] or by calling 410-786-8084. For more information about what the NCMS can do to help you navigate through accountable care visit our Accountable Care webpage.
