Over the weekend of July 23-25, the NCMS Sports Medicine Committee presented its 40th Annual Sports Medicine Symposium. Nearly 100 participants, including orthopaedic surgeons, family practice physicians, pediatricians, resident physicians, athletic trainers, and physical therapists, enjoyed the program.

At the meeting, NCMS Past President Carl Rust, II, MD, recognized A. Tyson Jennette, MD, of Wilson, for his 40 years service on the Sports Medicine Committee, serving as a member since its inception in 1969. Dr. Jennette was honored by the NCMS for his years of service on the committee and for his continuing impact on the health and safety of student athletes in North Carolina.
