The North Carolina Dermatology Association (NCDA) was recently presented The Model State Award by the American Academy of Dermatology Association’s State Society Development Task Force for the NCDA’s “outstanding political education program.” NCMS Director of Specialty Society, Meeting Services Alan Skipper is Executive Director of the NCDA, which is one of several state specialty organizations that receives managerial and organizational support services from the NCMS.

An article in the June issue of Dermatology World describes the NCDA as having a multi-faceted advocacy program, which provides members political information packets on state legislation and regulation and alerts when they need to contact legislators on legislation that will affect their specialty.
