In keeping with the North Carolina Medical Society’s (NCMS) 2014 Annual Meeting’s educational theme of caring for our veterans, the Interim Under Secretary for Health at the Veterans Administration in Washington, DC Carolyn Clancy, MD, will address our House of Delegates on October 25, 2014, at the Grandover Resort in Greensboro, NC.
As Interim Under Secretary for Health, Dr. Clancy oversees the health care needs of millions of Veterans enrolled in VHA, the United States’ largest integrated health care system, with more than 1700 sites, including hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, and Readjustment Counseling Centers. In addition, VHA is the nation’s largest provider of graduate medical education and a major contributor to medical research.
This is the NCMS’ 160th Annual Meeting, to be held on Oct. 24-25. You and your family are invited to take part in this event, which features educational sessions, networking and social opportunities, important policy debate and more. We hope to see you there!

Women in Medicine Section Meeting & Lunch (10/24): Featuring speaker Kristina Natt och Dag, PhD, discussing leadership skills for women.
Quality Care for Veterans (10/24): This educational session and panel discussion will focus on improving care for our veterans. (Session fee: $25. Please note: lunch not included.)
House of Delegates (10/24 & 10/25): Take part in important policy debate and listen to keynote speaker Carolyn Clancy, MD, Interim Under Secretary for Health at the Veterans Administration, address the HOD regarding veteran health care during the Saturday session.
