Wilmington Physician Celebrates Practice Milestone

warschauerFor Wilmington internist Samuel E. Warshauer. MD, 2011 is a very special year—it marks his 75th year in medicine! A regular attendee at New Hanover-Pender County Medical Society (NHPCMS) functions, Dr. Warshauer and his wife, Miriam, an accomplished violinist, were among those who braved cold, rainy weather that forced NHPCMS to move its Spring Social from a garden setting to a small, cramped room. NHPCMS Executive Director Bonnie Brown said the weather didn’t dampen the celebration, with the 97-year-old Dr. Warshauer and his wife among those having fun. A longtime member of the NHPCMS and the NCMS (65 years), Dr. Warshauer received his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia in 1936.

Bonnie says another NHPCMS member, Robey Thomas Sinclair, Jr., MD, is also 97 and has practiced diagnostic radiology for 73 years, since receiving his medical degree from Georgetown University in 1938.

Remarkable. I don’t think may of us are thinking about that kind of longevity in practice.
