March 15, 2011 is the deadline to submit for 2010 Physician Quality Reporting Initiative (PQRI) financial incentives, but most approved registries need the data by the end of January. Many practices may qualify but have not applied.  Click here to learn more about registry requirements.

2010 incentives will peak at 2 percent, but will begin to drop in 2011. A small practice can easily receive several thousand dollars while a large group practice may be entitled up to $1 million. CMS has overhauled the program, and physician practices can work with approved registries to submit quality and/or electronic prescribing data. Incentive payments are scheduled to arrive in the fall of 2011.
