The North Carolina Medical Society (NCMS) encourages all physician assistants who care for Medicaid patients to enroll as a provider through NCTracks. According to an article published in the Medicaid Bulletin, claims for prescriptions written by providers not enrolled in NC Medicaid will be denied starting on November 1, 2014. This will hold true for prescriptions and refills.

The effort to enroll ordering and referring  Medicaid providers is due to a new rule under the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

To enroll, the first step is to get an North Carolina Identity Management Account (NCID). If you already have this number, you may proceed to the NCTracks provider enrollment site to complete your registration.
