Act Now to Qualify for a $24,000 Incentive Payment

Now is the time to act if you see Medicare patients and have not met meaningful use since 2014 is the last year to be eligible to receive the CMS Medicare incentive payments for meaningful use.  This is a total of $24,000 if started in 2014.

What does this mean?  If a provider has not met meaningful use and sees Medicare patients, not only will you receive a  payment reduction on all Medicare charges in 2015, but you will forfeit the  meaningful use EHR incentive payments for each of your practice’s providers.   If you already have an EHR in  place, you will only need to meet stage 1 measures during a calendar quarter to receive your payment.

For more information, go to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services EHR Incentive Programs website here. For help on EHR selection or meeting meaningful use, contact the NCMS Foundation’s Director of Practice Improvement, Terri Gonzalez, 919-833-3836.
