AMA Calls for Nominations for Excellence in Medicine Awards

Nominate your colleagues who go beyond the call of duty to improve public health, provide care for people in need and serve as community leaders for this year’s Excellence in Medicine Awards. Presented by the AMA Foundation in association with Pfizer Inc., the annual awards acknowledge the everyday heroes who embody the highest values of the medical profession: altruism, public service and dedication to patient care.

Nominate a colleague today. The Excellence in Medicine Awards include:

  • The Pride in the Profession Award, which goes to a physician aiding underserved patients in the United States.
  • The Dr. Nathan Davis International Award, which goes to a physician aiding an international population.
  • The Jack B. McConnell, M.D., Award, which goes to a senior physician improving access to care in the United States.
  • The Leadership Awards, which go to medical students, residents, fellows and early career physicians who demonstrate outstanding nonclinical leadership skills.

Nominations are due Nov. 16. All awards will be presented at the Excellence in Medicine Awards banquet Feb. 13, 2013 in Washington, D.C.
