AMA offers CPT Code Edits to Assist with Coding

Data files containing Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) Code Edits are now available through the AMA. The edits are consistent with guidelines and conventions established by the CPT Editorial Panel. The purpose of making the edits available is to assist physicians practice correct coding, ultimately maintaining revenue and proper third-party claims processing. The edits include codes that should and should not be reported together.

An evaluation license is required to view the edits. Contact Cheryl Ashe, Licensing Specialist for AMA’s Intellectual Property Services department, at [email protected] or 312-464-4779 to request a license.
