AMA Reaches Out to Sen. Baucus Regarding “America’s Healthy Future Act of 2009”

American Medical Association Executive Vice President/CEO Michael D. Maves, MD, MBA, recently sent a letter to Senate Finance Committee Chair Max Baucus regarding the recently released Baucus plan for health reform, “America’s Healthy Future Act of 2009.”  While thanking the Senator for his work in this area, the letter went on to address several concerns that the AMA has in regard to the proposed plan, including the no provision to repeal the SGR formula, authorities granted to the Independent Medicare Commission, and more.  View the entire letter here. (PDF)

Do you agree with the AMA’s take on this proposal?
