Former State Health Director Leah Devlin, DDS, MPH and Peter Morris, MD, Medical Director for Wake County Human Services were among the 2010 recipients of the GlaxoSmithKline Foundation’s Lifetime Achievement Awards. Dr. Devlin was recognized for her work in public health, including eight years as State Health Director, where she fought for children’s health programs. Dr. Morris was recognized for his work as a mentor, coach and resource for many people in the Wake community, and as a champion for children, particularly those who are underserved, at risk or have special needs.
