The North Carolina Medical Society has joined over 100 other state and specialty medical societies in a letter calling on Congress to nullify the two percent Medicare cut required under the Budget Control Act of 2011.
The Emergency Rule adopted by the Midwifery Joint Committee last June that allowed Certified Nurse Midwives to practice without physician supervision following an “unexpected” termination of a collaborative practice agreement, expired August 31, ending the modification it put in place on June 18.
The North Carolina Medical Society Foundation has received a $100,000 grant from The Physicians Foundation, which will assist with funding of the Toward Accountable Care Consortium and Initiative.
