CMS spokesman Michael Pierson says this will be the first in a series of calls that the Atlanta Regional Office will be conducting and will seek to provide a better understanding of the resources and tools that are available to guide physicians, including the introduction of individuals in North Carolina who can assist physicians as they move toward EHRs.  Among the participants in the teleconference will be Ann Lefebvre with the NC AHEC program at UNC-CH (www.med.unc.edu/ahec). She will provide an overview of Regional Extension Centers (REC).
