The North Carolina Dermatology Association (NCDA) is calling on volunteers to help at its Third Annual Skin Screening Day at the North Carolina General Assembly on Thursday, May 22. This popular event will be held in Room #1124 in the Legislative Building starting at 9 a.m. and finishing by 3 p.m. While it may be difficult to participate for the full day, please consider donating an hour or two of your time to this important program.

The event is being conducted as a part of the Dermatology Association’s advocacy initiative to strengthen the indoor tanning law in North Carolina.  The free screenings will consist of full- or partial-body examinations, sharing skin cancer handouts with information on how to find a dermatologist, and teaching skin self-examinations. This event offers an excellent opportunity to reinforce the message the NCDA has been promoting about the dangers of indoor tanning and its proposed legislation.  Additionally, individual meetings with legislators will be scheduled.
