Eighteen Greenville area physicians answered questions from 447 callers during the annual Doctors on Call program that aired over WITN-TV on Wednesday. Some physicians commented that several callers indicated that they needed medical assistance but could not afford to pay for the care. Callers were able to talk with a physician at no charge during the six-hour call-in, which was co-sponsored by WITN-TV, Pitt County Medical Society and the North Carolina Medical Society. WITN has participated in Doctors on call for more than twenty years. The NCMS wishes to thank all the physicians, WITN and Pitt County Medical Society staff for their participation.
